A medical degree from China spans five years. Subjects offered in the first year include cytology, biology,human anatomy, inorganic chemistry, medical physics, biochemistry, histology, embryology and physiology. Subjects offered in second year include physiology, immunology, microbiology, parasitology and pathology, pathophysiology, physical diagnosis and pharmacology, subjects offered in third year include pathology, pathophysilogy, physical diagnosis, pharmacology, radiology, general surgery,general medicine, and epidemiology, preventive and social medicine. The fourth and fifth year of the course includes subjects like general surgery, general medicine, dermatology, epidemiology, preventive and social medicine, regional anatomy, forensic medicine, ENT, ophthalmology, gynaecology, obstretics,orthopedics, psychiatry and pediatrics. The syllabus varies a little for different universities. Upon completion of the course one becomes fit to practice anywhere in the world.

Chinese language course is compulsory in every university which offers MBBS in English. Even if classes are conducted in English, the language spoken in daily life in China is essential for students when they leave the classroom. It is helpful for international students to know Chinese. Nevertheless, not all of the universities ask the students to pass the HSK test at a certain level before graduation. During the course of practice the students need to interact with local people through Chinese language only.

Yes, of course. Chinese universities have postdoctoral research programs in preventive medicine, clinical medicine, basic medical sciences, biology and pharmacy. However, a student who has done his Bachelors in Medicine in India would require at least HSK level 5 (Chinese Language Competency Exam) to do their masters in China. It would be much easier for students who have already done their Bachelors in India.

The Medical Council of India stipulates that all students studying MBBS program from Medical Colleges outside India and wanting to practice in India after completion of their program, need to appear for a "Screening Test" which is a 300 marks (no negative marking) MCI test.
